My Caregiver Stories..

Mrs Govan
October 16, 1922-December 23, 2013
I was her caregiver for 18 years. Before her husband passed he asked me to look after her. And that I did. The last seven years of her life she was ill.  She suffered from kidney failure. That was the real beginning of totally caring for her. Again it wasn't an easy task because I was still doing ministry helping those who were living on the streets.
Yet she had family they were not close and she considered me her family.
I cared for her as if she was my mother. Did all of the daughter duties. She and my mother were good friends and when my mother pasted she stepped in and assumed that position. It was only natural that I cared for her.
It's all types of Caregivers with different types of assignments.
Which one do you hold?

Aunt Helen
Caring for her was quite a strain. But with God all things were possible.
Caring for others while doing ministry was some days a bit much but I made it.
Aunt Helen did not have any children and the other family really didn't want to care. So I did. And even this day I ask myself why was I the one to care. But when God calls you don't question, you just do.
I made sure she was comfortable until death.
